War movies need to stop having such muted colors

I understand why directors want their films to have gray skies and muted colors. You want the audience to feel the pain and sorrow of the carnage on the scene. You want the film to look gritty and real. However, not every battle was fought on a cold spring day with overcast weather. For instance, many of the color photos you see of WWII show absolutely gorgeous weather and vibrant colors despite the destruction around them. Many photos of Stalingrad in the summer have crystal clear skies in such a horrific place. There’s photos of GI’s killed in fire fights in meadows full of flowers as well. I don’t want my war movie to be cheery and happy, but I think having all the colors be muted is over done. I think you could make a powerful scene by having something brutal happen in a beautiful setting. You don’t have to have ugly weather to make a sad scene

Edit: I’d also like to add that most military offenses throughout history are specifically launched in good weather. An army doesn’t want to get bogged in the rain and snow. Aircraft can’t spot troop movements if it’s too cloudy/foggy out
