What is a movie that exceeded your expectations?

There are movies that fail to live up to the hype, and then there are movies that surprisingly exceed your expectations.

My vote: Magnolia

I had only seen 4 Paul Thomas Anderson films before watching this movie (There Will Be Blood, The Master, Boogie Nights, and Phantom Thread), so I expected Magnolia to be at least a great film, and turns out it was more than a great movie. Brilliant performances accompanied by impeccable writing and direction made it became my new favorite PTA film.
