Peter Jackson's last movie before the lord of the rings trilogy, The frighteners (1996) may be my favourite from the director.

I don't really see this movie talked about very often. Michael J Fox is great and does something we haven't really seen him do before, playing a social outcast suspected of murdering his wife. Full of great, memorable characters with pretty great visual effects. Love the story, setting, set design and especially the score from Danny Elfman. Highly recommend seeing this if you haven't already.
