John Carpenters The Thing still holds up after all these years.

For a 39 year old movie I am still blown away by all of the special effects and attention to detail that went into making this movie. I remember watching a mini documentary on how involved just the opening title sequence was to make and I have a deep appreciation for directors that actual leave their mark in all of their works.

I'm not usually a Sci-Fi fan but the horror elements really leave you with a sense of dread for the characters.
