Name a movie that is a terrible adaptation of the source material despite being a good/entertaining movie on its own

Here are some examples that I can think of:

The Shining (1980): Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, The Shining was initially given negative reviews by critics but is now regarded as one of the best and influential horror movies of all time. King dislikes the movie because of its deviations from his own work.

Constantine (2005): Based on the Hellblazer comic, I find Constantine to be an extremely entertaining movie despite it not being a good representation of the comic. I’ve seen a lot of people consider this movie a more Elseworlds interpretation of John Constantine.
