Which movie did exceed your expectations the most?

I find myself being very influenced by my own expectations going in to a film. If my expectations are low, the chance that I will enjoy the film is much higher and vice versa.

As an example: I had very low expectations when I saw The Grand Budapest Hotel the first time. Mainly because most of my friends didn't like it and thought it was "weird". But I just loved it, it was such a joy watching it. I continued to checkout all other Wes Anderson movies that I hadn't seen, and I am still a fan today.

Do you have any such examples?
