What movie do you think is better than the book?

My vote is for the 2008 Alex Garland film Annihilation. I loved the film and read the book afterwards. It was very different from the film (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), but I found that the book was a total chore to read with characters and a story that could barely hold my interest. Had I read the book first, I never would have imagined such a great film coming from that source material. I found that the movie improved on the book (which had a few good ideas) and really fleshed it out into a cinematic, fascinating and truly unsettling film.
