The Northman

Just rewatched The Northman for the 3rd time, what a fantastic film. The cast is superb, the cinematography was gorgeous, particularly in the final fight scene with Fjolnir. I didn’t realize on my first viewing but this is actually the danish folk tale/myth that served as Shakespeare’s inspiration for his famous play Hamlet (a translation of Amleth). I got a major Shakespeare vibe from it on my first viewing so makes total sense. Huge recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
