Braveheart Vs Outlaw King

I’ve watched both movies.

Braveheart is wildly entertaining. But as time passes the more I’ve realized it is nothing more than a Mel Gibson fantasy. He beds two beautiful women. He punks the flamboyantly gay prince. He brutally murders all the villains. The only thing missing is the main villain, in this case Longshanks, being played by Jewish actor, just like Jason Isaacs played Colonel Tavington in the patriot. That way Mel could’ve really gotten into the role.

On the other hand Outlaw King is more realistic and more true to the history. But something is missing from the movie which makes it less entertaining.

I think if you merged the entertainment and cinematography from Braveheart and the story from Outlaw King you would’ve had a perfect movie.

The biggest difference between the two movies was the portrayal of Prince Edward. Both movies made him a cartoon. One movie made him into an overtly aggressive tool. The other movie made him into a caricature of what Mel Gibson imagines a gay man to be.
