Denis Villenueve is quickly becoming my favorite director working today

This guy is having an absolutely ridiculous run of films right now. From the awesome gritty Sicario and Prisoners to some of the best modern Sci-Fi with Arrival and a Blade Runner sequel that was so much better than it had any right to be. And now he's killing it with Dune which is the best space opera since the original Star Wars trilogy in my opinion.

I especially appreciate how none of his Sci-Fi films have a false note in the visual effects, you can't find a single questionable CGI shot in his films even though they're as imaginative and epic as Sci-Fi gets.
