Is the 1st Terminator a horror movie??

I just watched The Terminator one for the first time (I only had ever seen Judgement Day before, oops!) and got major slasher energy. After reading some reviews, it seems like some agree and acknowledge it has a lot of horror aspects, but I also read that Cameron rejects this idea. What do you guys think?
