What the fuck is up with movie theatre commercials these days?

I sat down to watch Fast X the other day and the ads played for a full 25 minutes. Never mind the fact that Fast X is already a movie that stretched an hour long plot into 2.5 hours, but now commercials stretch it out even more making the theatre experience in my opinion just so unnecessarily long.

My popcorn was 3/4 gone and cold by the time the movie actually started, as well as my nachos. I don’t understand why commercials have become such a chore when I remember them being 10-15 minutes at max?
