Were there any moments where studios learned the *right* lesson from a film’s success?

This is coming off the news of how Mattel wants to make their own cinematic universe after the success of Barbie. Obviously the lesson we want all studios to take from this is to give acclaimed creatives the opportunity to bring artistic vision to big IPs, but that doesn’t seem to be happen. Everyone was pessimistic after the release knowing they would take the wrong lesson (and it’s looking like they did), but I wanna ask, were there any moments where studios took the right lesson?
