The industry is shooting itself in the foot with this "Billion or Bust" mentality.

The fact that movies like indiana jones and especially mission impossible are going to lose 100m dollars even though they grossed over 500m is absolutely inexcusable from the studios. No movie that grosses 500m should be losing money. Its unexceptable. Hopefully after oppenheimer and barbie they learn something. Great movies can be made for less than 600 million. Like the title of this post, its as if they think a movie that doesnt make 1b is not a successful movie anymore.
