The Blob (1988) is top-notch classic horror movie goodness.

Just in the middle of my annual watching of this movie. It's really amazing. Kind of a 50s horror movie feel but with Grade A practical horror effects. The deaths are somehow both over the top but completely realistic, given that they are people being killed by a monstrous space blob. (major gore warning in case you are thinking of watching with little kids...)

The characters are surprisingly nuanced and the writing is great, in that people mostly make very sensible decisions (but get killed anyway because space blob!) so it all feels like a pretty believable scenario (if space blob).

Lots of fun! Highly recommend!
