Which comedian shocked you with their acting ability?

Which comedic actor, that you formally only knew for being funny, surprised you with their serious/dramatic acting ability?

For me it was John C. Reilly, even though he had such a short role in the thin red line, his line was so out of character from what I was used to. Also, gangs of New York he was very good.
