While Terminator 3 was not held to the same regard as T1 and T2, it's ending is really effective and well done.

To have John Conner chase after the world-saving macguffin that will stop nuclear genocide, only for that macguffin to simply be a fallout shelter to ensure John's survival, was a really great surprise.

I always loved the ending of the movie, and I'm glad that they went with the direction of a bleak acceptance of what is coming.
