PREDATOR 2: Some questions left unanswered

Just saw the movie after a very long time, and, its a really great film, but I had some questions that were standing out for me. Dunno if anyone knows the answer, or is just up for giving me their 2 cents.

1. From reading around the internet, I understand that in Predator 1, it was a Hunter Predator. But in part 2, it was a soldier / warrior predator. Which would make sense, because it seemed more equipped to handle combat, and even had a first aid kit. But why would they send a warrior predator to earth, when they only sent a hunter in the first part? Were they preparing for a war, an invasion, or were they just trying to explore urban combat?

2. Was the predator stalking Danny Glover's character, and intentionally seeking him out to hurt him? Because he follows him to the cemetery, and then right after that, he ends up in the subway where his partners were, albeit that there were gang members there. Was he hunting him because he knew that he was on to him and his existence?

3. In the "spaceship" where the predator was finally killed, a whole bunch of other predators show up, but only after it is killed. Were they waiting to see how the predator could handle himself? as a rite of passage, or a test? Did they just wait around for him to be killed?

4. Heard that a new predator movie is coming out. What are your thoughts, and how do you think the story should be written?

Thanks guys! If you can answer and / or give your opinion, that would be fantastic. Just realized how much i loved that movie, but there were some questions i needed answered.
