What movie did you watch because of r/movies that let you down?

For me it was La La Land. Everything felt generic and bland in it. I didn't care for the characters or the songs. The story was really, really weak. You see nothing of the relationship between the protagonists. What you see is really shallow. The "boy"and the "girl"don't even seem like real people. The whole thing seems like a weak homage to Los Angeles. And there is so much convenient coincidences. In the end it is just a weak love story. I was really surprised because everyone was praising this movie so much. I just can't understand the appeal of it.
