"Rambo: First Blood" should have never had sequels

Because the people who made them seemed to not get what First Blood was about. War is hell, and then what they do, they turn in these fascist action movies where Rambo ends up being a far-right wet dream. Didn't they see the first movie? Rambo had his mind busted over the Vietnam war and then he comes back and is treated like a pariah by a bunch of dirty cops which then provokes him to go psycho. The whole movie was about the way veterans were mistreated by the country after a war that destroyed them. It made more sense that the original end had Rambo being killed because it felt like a point of no return.

Then they make a bunch of stupid sequels, the kind of pics Kid Rock and Ted Nugent would love to see, and it was as if the makers had seen a different movie. You just saw a film about a traumatized veteran and your instant reaction is to make war action movies with the nut-bag turned into an action hero? Really?

Between Rambo and Rocky I much preferred Rocky. At least Rocky was consistent. Even when he went back to being a loser in Rocky V and dealing with a bratty, spoiled son, he was still being a dim but sweet beast while training hot-head Tommy. And he picked Adrien when he could have been with a hot woman.
