Now that M. Night Shyamalan is cool again, does 'The Village' deserve more credit than it has gotten?
I just finished watching The Village and I have to say, it has some great elements of film making. The performances are stand out. The story is both romantic and suspenseful. It feels like a well put together film right from the script all the way to the costumes. Did people expect too much in terms of the Shyamalan twist? It is not a triumph in any sense of the word, but does it deserve more credit than 'one of the bad shyamalan films'?
