The Patriot (2000) is the Showgirls of war movies

It's so incredibly cheesy in the best way, from the hilarious use of slow-motion to the obviously manipulative "emotional" scenes and dialogue. Mel Gibson's stellar performance in spite of the ridiculousness of the material only makes it that much more entertaining.

Roland Emmerich, thank you for giving the world this wonderful, terrible, but wonderful movie.
