Finally watched "Kubo and the Two Strings" last night... Woke up this morning and I *still* had feels. Outstanding film, 10/10

A few of my favorite moments:

  1. Finally understanding the title, as a shamisen traditionally has three strings.

  2. Kubo's father doesn't show up at the lantern ceremony because he's still alive.

  3. At the end, the townspeople not only forgive the Moon King, but create a history for him that means he can be loved for the rest of his mortal life.

  4. The ending is PIXAR-esque, in that the weapons and armor were not what Kubo needed to defeat the Moon King, but the journey was necessary anyway.

I'm overflowing with thoughts and emotions about this criminally overlooked film.
