Lost In Translation

I watched Lost In Translation last night and I am still lost for words thinking about it today. This might be the most realistically human movie I have ever seen. What struck me the most were the things Bob and Charlotte wanted to say to each other but left unsaid, it was just so real. The performances of Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson (who was just 17 at the time) are sublime. I think this might be Bill Murray’s best role to date.

The cinematography is also really beautiful. I don’t normally notice these kinds of things when watching a movie, but the interior and exterior shots of Tokyo, especially at night, were mesmerising.

Seriously, if you haven’t seen this movie check it out. I’ve got a feeling that it will stay with me for quite some time.
