Dumb animation mistakes in Hercules that always got my goat

1997's Hercules was one of my favorite Disney cartoons growing up but I've always hated the stupid bizzare animation inconsistensies that somehow came through in the final product. I hope this post can annoy or ruin the movie for at least one other person.

Spoiler alert for anyone reading on:

One scene is the destruction of the marketplace, as can be seen here with apologies for the low quality of the clip.

The destruction of the marketplace follows a pretty simple domino effect of the pillars collapsing both ways in this structure. So how on Earth do we end up at this point where the pillars are collapsing on one point? The endpoint where the pillars are supposed to meet up is actually the same point that the pillars started their collapse, which makes no sense. This has always bothered me watching this but nobody else seems to notice. Anyway, moving on.

The climactic scene where Hercules rescues Meg from the Styx is even worse and its a jumbled mess of a scene. The first shot we get is this, and the very next shot is this. There's a clear disparity in where the water level actually is between the shots, but nothing seemingly major, that is until he dives in from a 50 foot drop that suddenly appeared. Wait a minute, didn't he literally just have his hands in the water in the scene before? How many people had to miss this major oversight? Maybe back then the moon was just a lot faster and the tides were a lot quicker.

Of course, then he rescues Meg, swims back up, and just reaches out to grab the edge of the ledge that he initially jumped from. Did he crawl back up those 50 feet? Did the water level rise again suddenly? That would lend credence to the tide theory. Right after that we have this wonderful shot of Hercules... climbing the stairs up to the ledge? We literally just saw him put his hand up to the top of the ledge to climb up, but now not only is he not using his hands to lift himself up as we just saw him doing, he's also flying or something. We already saw that the ledge is like a diving board, it's a piece of ground that is sticking out into the water so you can't just walk up it but...

Anyway that's my rant on Hercules, and my final thought is that this movie is not only a prime candidate for the live action remakes they're handing out, but I'd go so far as to say that it desperately needs it and could use a huge refurbishment.
