Why are Netflix Original Movies so bad?

Most Netflix original movies I’ve seen are really bad. Not mediocre, but really bad. It almost seems as if they’re written by students. Why do they constantly pump out shitty movie after shitty movie? Are they just lowering the bar knowing people will still watch them? Can you really make more money with 100 bad movies rather than 10 good ones?
