Dolemite Is My Name is my favorite film of the year

This was the most entertaining movie of 2019. Eddie Murphy gives a resplendent performance as Rudy Ray Moore, dealing out one-liners and heart-felt moments one after another. The supporting cast, including Wesley Snipes, Mike Epps, Keegan-Michael Key, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Craig Robinson and a sneaky role for Bob Odenkirk, give the film a kinetic, comedic energy and a soul that I haven't felt in any other film of the year. The film is also one of the funniest films of the last five years, and the soundtrack is one that should be looked to as an inspiration when searching for great film soundtracks of the decade. I have seen The Irishman, Joker, and John Wick Chapter 3, but Dolemite is his name, and fucking up motherfuckers is his game. Best movie of the year, IMHO.
