“Knives Out” Advanced Screening Discussion Thread

Now that the advanced screenings are done, figured others might want to have a place to talk about it since it’s not going to have an official discussion until next week.

Just got out of the movie and had a blast the entire time. I’m really big fan of whodunnits and wish there were more films like this but the reason there aren’t is because of insanely difficult they are to make without making the mystery too easy to solve or impossible to solve by withholding evidence (ex. something the detective saw but the audience didn’t) or just an overload of red herrings. Using the truth vomit as a plot device was genius.

Rian absolutely killed it. All the characters were interesting, you learned enough about them but not going to deep with information you don’t need and wasting screen time. Dialogue is easily the best Rian has written before and humor in spades. This is one of the most fun movies I’ve seen since... well JoJo Rabbit, but big break before that.

Stand out was Ana for sure, but everyone nailed their part and the Trooper/audience was great
