Mary Elizabeth Winstead should play Ellen Ripley in any potential reboot of the Alien franchise
I know I know. We’ve all been sufficiently traumatized by Ridley Scott’s repeated attempts to revive the beloved xenomorph brand. But I’m in the middle of watching Kate (2021) and I can’t stop obsessing about how well-suited she would be to step into Sigourney Weaver’s shoes as a new Ripley. I didn’t even know Winstead was gunning for a new vocation as a next generation action legend on par with Keanu. Her demeanour, physique, quiet intelligence, and looks beg for consideration.
And apparently I’m not the only one.
So please, Fox, Disney whoever. Don’t let Sir Ridley near any future Alien Resurrections. And please, we know you never listen to the fans when it comes to cogent plot lines so at least heed my advice for casting and make Winstead the next Ripley. Thanks for coming to my shitty Ted Talk.
