Has Joaquin Phoenix ever had a role that wasn’t dark, melancholy and/or ended in tragedy?

I was watching the Master and thought of how much range Joaquin Phoenix has, but realized he doesn’t usually star in anything fun or light. Not surprising given his upbringing, his personal tragedies, and he’s quite good at what he does. With Beau is Afraid, Napoleon and the Joker sequel coming up, I don’t see that trend stopping. Can anyone here think of a Joaquin Phoenix role that didn’t take him to a dark place?
