The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) - Ostensibly a parody of the iconic TV show but almost a perfect send up of the 1990s remarkably made smack in the middle of the 1990s.

This movie ages like fine cheese.

If you haven’t seen it since it was released go back and take another look. The movie on its surface is a fun parody of the iconic Brady Bunch series but it’s so much more than that.

The way that the movie captures the Too Cool For School attitude of the 1990s was remarkable in that such a thing can usually only be accomplished with the benefit of hindsight.

From the materialism of the Dittmeyers to the ridiculous coffee shop culture and the airplane sing-along this movie got the “Need to be cool” ambitions and cultural milieu of the 1990s exactly right then held it out for the ridicule it deserved in a way that can only be properly appreciated from 25 years in the future.
