Is Tim Allen really great or just really lucky?

Home Improvement did well enough to be on for years. But if you were alive at the time, you remember that Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a mega teen star that surely sold loads of teeny bop magazines and probably brought in some viewers for the show.

Tim was one of the main actors for one of the greatest cartoons ever in Toy Story. But the story itself was fantastic and surely would’ve done well without him. Maybe not though considering the movie Lightyear.

He was in Galaxy Quest, a movie in which I don’t think I’ve ever heard a negative critique about. People call it an amazing Star Trek homage but again Tim is surrounded by greats like Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver.

Had his own little franchise with The Santa Clause which did good enough to receive two sequels and a tv series.

I’ve never personally had a problem with Tim Allen though we differ politically.

Do you think he’ll be remembered as above average to great actor or just lucky with the projects he jumped on?
