Why hasn’t there been a comedy movie wave like the ones we experienced in the early 2000s

I have very fond memories of the 2000-2010 era where almost every year there was a stream of great comedy films

The Scary Movie franchise , the Judd Apatow productions and the Rogen Franco era

I think the last film of this dynamic was The Disaster Artist - a film that I really enjoyed

It was a throwback to the golden period of the Apatow productions

Other prominent mentions - the Madagascar trilogy and ofc what I personally think is the greatest comedy film of the 2000s - Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder is an absolute pleasure even 16 years post release
