What movie had a great premise executed poorly that you'd like to see remade?
There's a 1986 film called Jake Speed. In that world nobody knows it but all the pulp novel heroes are actually real people & their books are based on real adventures. This particular hero is shown as helping people really as only a means to sell more books. A woman gets involved with the hero Jake Speed when her sister is kidnapped. Jake is played as a bit of cad or sleeze. It's a pretty interesting concept.
Unfortunately that's where it ends. None of the performances are particularly good. It was also shot on what seems like a fairly shoestring budget. Are there any films you feel this way about?
