Why Doesn’t Gene Siskel Get Love in the Industry?

Roger Ebert was, and still is, a legendary film critic. He lasted many decades, reviewed thousands of films, and wrote many books collecting his thoughts on cinema.

My question is: Why is his late partner in Gene Siskel also not as well regarded?

Where are the books publishing Gene’s film reviews? Or a website showcasing his thoughts overall on cinema? Or just in general why has he been forgotten outside of being “Roger Ebert’s TV partner”?

Is it because he passed away so early in before the turn of the 21st Century? Is there any place we can actually read Siskel’s thoughts on the movies he reviewed?
