How did The Truman Show run for nearly 30 years with such an incompetent staff?

Seriously that last week for example was a mess. A light fell right in front of his house, They had the same actor who played his dad as a homeless man I mean come on, when the frequency switched in Truman's car the coordinator talked for way too long they should have had him stop talking immediately. The break rooms were WAY too close to Truman. And while this isn't the crews fault an actor who Truman never met in his life calls him by his full name.. You're telling me of the 30 years this show has been running that's the first time this has happened? Also why did they bring back the actress Truman was into but the studio CLEARY didn't want him to be back TWO more times after the initial meeting... Just seems like a very incompetent production for something that has lasted 30 years.
