I really want there to be a video or experiment where 3-5 big time directors have to direct the same script, just to see how different each one would choose to frame the scene and how the atmosphere/tone would change accordingly
Has this ever been done before? I see a lot of "this script would have been perfect for X or Y", and I've always wanted to know how Fincher would direct a random 5 minute script compared to Scorcese or Tarantino, for example.
It'd be pretty cool for film fans or aspiring young directors to see and hear why certain directors chose to film or light their version of the film in that way, and what key parts of the script they would want to be the focus or stand out.
It'd be even cooler if we had different genres. Say how they would film a thriller, horror, action or comedy.
edit: Fuck me this blew up overnight. Cheers for the replies everyone, for those of you also interested I'll post links that some users have sent so it's all in one. These aren't all of them just the ones with direct links, it's well worth checking out some of the others in the comments though.
